Future San Diego 2024
In 2004, my brother invited me to attend a Rock church service at SDSU. It was the first time I heard Pastor Miles McPherson preach. Since then I attended services at Aero Drive and then eventually Point Loma since 2008. I have raised all of my kids here since birth and grateful for church family who have come alongside to shepherd them to love Christ. Coming from someone who was raised as a child in a Christian home, I know this isn’t the easiest. My own walk hasn’t always been steady but God always brings me back somehow.
It’s definitely a God thing when I can tell this story of how my kids hesitated on attending camp and I didn’t know if I’d be able to afford sending all 3 of them. By God’s grace and provision, they received scholarships and I had the opportunity to serve on Safety for 3 days. Thank you Mom, Tita Karen and Auntie Beth for also sponsoring Jacob. These 3 godly women of God have also been such a huge part of my walk with Christ. I would be a very different person without their love and guidance.
Thank you again to Jacob, Michaela and Nichola for giving camp a chance. I hope you made some unforgettable memories and connections and that you continue to walk with God as we know this still is just the beginning. Proverbs 22:6 🤴🏻👸🏻👸🏻👸🏻👸🏻 Thanks again to my mom for hanging out with Nichola and Everbel while I served on campus and taught classes. I walked at least 15 miles and made 10 road trips back and forth between Point Loma, SDSU and Rancho Bernardo. 😅
To all the Rock staff and volunteers: what an amazing 4 days of fellowship for our youth! Thank you so much for all the prayer, time and effort to see this into fruition. I hope you are encouraged by all these young believers as I know this was no easy feat. Can’t wait for next year!
